Having
a load of off cuts I decided to make a signal box
that over hung the track as there was not really
enough room between the track edge and the
rear of the garage.
The
height above the guards van roof to the
oversailing section is much too high so after some
research I decide that a clearance of 250mm from
track bed to under side to floor of the signal box
should suite all locos and wagons that I
know about.
The
Signal box has been lowered by some 45mm and the
upper part built.
This series of photos shows the straight
forward and bold construction.
The two lead weight are to stop the unit
falling forwards over the track.
The
external parts of the signal box are now compete and
it is hoped weather proof.
The
windows are glazed with glass and the roof covered
with ceramics terracotta to look like red
corrugated iron.
